Letters of Recommendation

Provide contact information for three references who will electronically submit letters of recommendation. If you have received a degree within the last five years, please include at least one academic reference.

Be sure to carefully read the "Agreement of Confidentiality" in the applicant's section of the form. If you are willing to relinquish your right of access to these recommendations, please make certain you indicate that, since the response of the recommender may be affected by whether or not you relinquish your right of access.

Please note that some programs have specific requirements for letters of recommendation. 

  • Executive Doctorate in Higher Education Management (Ed.D.) applicants are required to submit two letters of recommendation.
  • General Admission applicants aren’t required to submit letters of recommendation.
  • Medical Educators Program (M.S.Ed.) applicants are required to submit two letters of recommendation.
  • Penn Chief Learning Officer (CLO) (Ed.D.) applicants are required to submit two letters of recommendation. Applicants must submit one letter from their direct manager/supervisor and another from a prior manager, senior colleague, mentor or client.
  • Professional Counseling and Mental Health Services (M.Phil.Ed.) applicants are not required to submit letters of recommendation
  • Reading Specialist Certification Only applicants are required to submit two letters of recommendation.
  • School Leadership Principal Certification Only applicants are required to submit two letters of recommendation.
  • Submatriculation applicants are required to submit two letters of recommendation.
  • Virtual Online Teaching (VOLT) Certificate applicants aren't required to submit letters of recommendation.

 

Additional Information

Applicants can change their references from the application status page if the reference has not yet started the recommendation. If the reference has started the recommendation, please contact the helpdesk at lor_help@collegenet.com.
