Applying to the Program

Application requirements for certification and master's degree are as follows:


Penn GSE Application for Admission


Statement of purpose


Three letters of recommendation:
 
A current principal who will serve as your site-based mentor
A recommendation from someone who can attest to your leadership abilities (one should be from administrator)
A recommendation from an individual (a former college professor, if possible) who can attest to the candidate's preparedness for rigorous academic work


Graduate Record Examination (GRE) results, which must be sent directly to Penn GSE from the Educational Testing Service (ETS), www.ets.org.

(Not required for certification only if applicant has earned a master's degree)



Application fee. Checks should be made payable to the "Trustees of the University of Pennsylvania."


Undergraduate/graduate transcript(s): Official copies of all academic transcripts from all higher education institutions you have attended, or are currently attending. Official copies of transcripts are signed and sealed by the institution(s). A cumulative GPA of 3.0 is required.
