Adelante is a documentary that shows the heart of Mexico beating strongly, just outside of Philadelphia, where Mexican newcomers are revitalizing a dying Irish-Catholic parish in Norristown, PA.

Over the past 14 years, a special approach to play has emerged in the county district of Anji in China. Directed and supported by Ms. Cheng (Angela) Xueqin, the regional director of early childhood education for the county district of Anji, teachers and school leaders in the 127 early childhood centers of Anji have been developing a materials-based play curriculum uniquely designed for the rapidly changing Chinese context within their mostly rural county. Working almost entirely outside the influence of western visions of curriculum, Ms.
GSE alumnus Todd Wolfson will discuss his new book Digital Rebellion: The Birth of the Cyber Left at the University of Pennsylvania Bookstore. The book examines the impact of new media and communication technologies on the spatial, strategic, and organizational fabric of social movements.
Stewart Friedman, Practice Professor of Management and Director of the Wharton Work/Life Integration Project, will give a presentation on the balance of work and play in life. His most recent book is Leading the Life You Want: Skills for Integrating Work and Life.
