In the midst of an increasingly intense and complex dialogue on immigration and refugees, it is more important than ever to understand the distinctions between these populations and why and how they might seek refuge in the United States.  It is also important that as language teachers, we consider ways to effectively support and teach students who are refugees and immigrants.

This workshop for first-year TESOL students will focus on the immigration and resettlement process, as well as practical teaching considerations.
