Pritchard Professor of Archaeology—is finding new ways to protect archaeological treasures of the Near East. Mesopotamia, a land rich in history and great civilizations, is now falling to the Islamic State in Iraq and Greater Syria (ISIS) with devastating consequences for the region’s cultural heritage.
