Overview of Penn Live Email Accounts
Penn Live Email is part of a larger Penn Live implementation of Microsoft Windows Live which has a number of other social networking features and web applications. You can create personal web pages, and pages for events. You'll have online storage of up to 25GB of space for documents. You'll be able to share documents with other people, even those not at Penn. You can share photos as well.
The Mail component is the part that we are supporting. Microsoft has help for the other features online and you should use those online resources rather than call our help desk for those non-email applications.
The email account is a Microsoft Exchange account which includes email, a contact list and a calendar and has a generous 10 GB quota. We suggest you use Internet Explorer to access your account. You can use other web browsers however you may not have access to all Penn Live features. Because you'd be using a web browser, you could access your account from any Internet connected computer.
Currently, the School of Design, School of Dental Medicine, and School of Education are the only schools offering these accounts at Penn.
Students do not have to have Penn Live email accounts. We know nearly all people already have email accounts and may prefer to use those. In that case, one simply enters the preferred email address into the Penn Online Directory. The university will then use the preferred address in the online directory for communications with you.
For more information see our FAQ.
You need to have a pennkey (Penn user id) created and know its password.
