Accepted Teacher Education Students

Welcome to newly admitted teacher education students! This page provides critical information about your program and what you must do to prepare for it. We update this page frequently, so please make sure to check back periodically.

PROGRAM DATES

• Required Orientation: Monday, July 1, 2013
• Some program activities (required) week of July 1-5 (not July 4th)
• Classes begin: Monday, July 8 and end August 19, 2013

• Fall field work begins: Tuesday, August 20 (depends on SDP schedule)
• Fall classes begin: Wednesday, August 28, 2013
• Fall classes end: Friday, December 20, 2013

• Spring field work begins: Thursday, January 2, 2014
• Spring classes begin: Monday, January 6, 2014
• Spring classes end: May 2014
• Commencement: May 17, 2014

ELEMENTARY/MIDDLE LEVEL EDUCATION STUDENTS

Before you begin the program, you must complete the following steps:

1. Obtain the three required criminal background checks and clearances click here. Bring in the original clearances to Maureen Cotterill or Pat Friess when you've collected all three in July.  
2. Read the Elementary Education Student Handbook: coming soon
3. Register for new student orientation on July 1, 2013: click here
4. Complete the Elementary/Middle Level Education Placement Preference Form: click here

SECONDARY EDUCATION STUDENTS

Before you begin the program on July 1, you must complete the following steps:

1. Obtain the three required criminal background checks and clearances click here. Bring in the original clearances to Maureen Cotterill or Pat Friess when you've collected all three in July.  
2. Read the Secondary Education Student Handbook: click here.
3. Register for new student orientation on July 1, 2013: click here.
4. Complete the Secondary Education Placement Preference Form: click here.
