GSE Grad Named Pacific Oaks President

April 27, 2011 - Tamara Rozhon, a graduate of Penn GSE’s Executive Doctorate in Higher Education Management program, has been appointed president of Pacific Oaks College and Children’s School, in Pasadena, California.

Dr. Rozhon has worked closely with Pacific Oaks since 2009 as an advisor and was named interim president in November 2010.

Among her accomplishments at Pacific Oaks are the introduction an Online Campus, planning for a School of Education to house new educational offerings, the launch of a new alumni association and alumni magazine, and the establishment of a major community event planned for September.

To improve student services, operations, finance, and admissions, Rozhon has put together an experienced leadership team. Recent enrollments reflect these efforts, as the College welcomed 100 new students this spring.

Rozhon has two decades of experience in higher education as both an instructor and an administrator. She has worked with a variety of institutions, including specialized, comprehensive, community college, and research, and has taught at the community college level and in a community-based ESL program.

An accredited non-profit institution founded in 1959 by a small group of Quaker families, Pacific Oaks College offers bachelor’s, master's, and certificate programs in human development, counseling, and teaching credentialing. Founded in 1945, the Children’s School is widely recognized today as one of the finest preschools in the Los Angeles region.
