We have reserved blocks of rooms at the two hotels closest to campus: the Hilton Inn at Penn and the Sheraton University City. 

HILTON INN AT PENN
3600 Sansom Street, (215) 222-0200 or 1-800-HILTONS. Located across the street from the university. Conference rates are $229.00/night for a single or a double (plus 15.2% tax). Book by January 22nd and indicate that you are with the Ethnography Forum to receive the group rate. There is a restaurant in the hotel.

SHERATON, University City
3600 Chestnut Street, (215) 596-0369 or 215-387-8000. Located one block away from the university. Conference rates are $199/night (plus 15.2% tax). Rooms are equipped with microwave, computer and free internet. Book by January 26th and indicate that you are with the Ethnography Forum to receive the group rate. The hotel provides a secure area to store your luggage upon request. A fee of $2 per bag will be charged for storage.

HI-USA HOSTEL
32 S. Bank Street (215) 922-0222. On a tight budget? HI-USA Hostel on Bank Street is about three and a half miles from Penn, downtown on the Delaware River. Ideally located for city night-life; easy public transportation to the University. Dorm Rooms are $31-$34/night for HI (Hostelling International) members, $34-$37 for non-members. They also offer Semi-Private and Private Rooms which range from $73-$89/night. Payment methods: Mastercard, Visa or travelers checks only. No personal checks (guests can use a credit card to reserve a bed at http://www.hiusa.org). Bed and Breakfasts

CORNERSTONE BED & BREAKFAST

Deposit equal to one night’s stay is required prior to arrival or equal to half of entire stay (whichever is greater). A two-night minimum is required on weekends. Rates range from $150 to $175, with suites available for $205 (with a 15.2% PA sales tax) per night and include breakfast. Rates are for single/double occupancy. There is a $30 fee per night for each additional guest in suites (up to 4 people) and rooms are double occupancy only. Free wireless internet. THE GABLES

Rates range from $105.00 to $165.00 depending on room and number of people. Rates include off-street parking on the premises and full breakfast. Special dietary needs can be accommodated. All rooms have private phones, easy hook-up to the Internet (including wireless), and cable television. Computer station available and free wireless internet. A refrigerator and microwave are available for guest use. A roll away bed may be added to some rooms to accommodate another person for an additional $25.00 charge. Check availability online.

SPRUCE HILL MANOR

All accommodations are large suites containing bedroom, bathroom, sitting room, and kitchenette. Free parking and free driving available for trips to University City. Rates for double occupancy are between $150 and $165 plus 15.2% tax, breakfast included. The rate for each additional person is $35. Book as soon as possible to ensure these rates.
