Delaware Valley Minority Student Achievement Consortium

The Delaware Valley Minority Student Achievement Consortium (DVMSAC) is a collaborative association of twenty-eight regional school districts and four county intermediate units in the Greater Philadelphia region that are committed to working together to enhance the achievement and well-being of all of their students. We collectively seek to measurably and appreciably reduce the disparities in achievement and school engagement between African American and Hispanic students and their Caucasian and Asian peers.

From its inception in 2004, the Delaware Valley Minority Student Achievement Consortium has worked diligently to improve the quality of educational experiences and educational outcomes of all students in districts across Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware. DVMSAC serves as a resource for school district superintendents and their leadership teams for taking a pro-active social justice and equity leadership role in examining and refining policies and practices that will significantly improve the academic performance of their underperforming students, and close their observed achievement gaps.

DVMSAC collaborates with its member school districts and with other organizations across the region and nation to provide high quality professional learning experiences for students, teachers, counselors, principals, central office administrators and school boards that address the unique learning and social-emotional challenges of their students of color.

The Delaware Valley Minority Student Achievement Consortium is a program of the Penn Center for Educational Leadership (PCEL).  PCEL programs and services are designed to actively improve the instructional, organizational, and public leadership capacities of member school districts.  Affiliation with Penn GSE and the Penn Center for Educational Leadership offers a variety of benefits, connecting participating superintendents and their districts to faculty and other resources at the University of Pennsylvania and beyond.
