Have you ever heard the sentiment: “White people need to do their own work”?

This workshop is a space for doing exactly that: it is an anti-racism training designed to provide a space for White people to do their own work without asking people of color to teach them about racism.  This space will support White graduate students who want to challenge the racism around them, to overcome the fear and guilt that often comes with race conversations, and to move to a place of self-reflective and informed action.

Facilitated by Ali Michael, Ph.D., the co-founder and director of the Race Institute for K-12 Educators and the author of Raising Race Questions: Whiteness, Inquiry and Education, winner of the 2017 Society of Professors of Education Outstanding Book Award.
