More About the Year of Sound
Each year, members of Penn's faculty, staff, and students select a theme that centralizes a focus for the year's lectures, presentations, and research. The academic theme hosted by Pen's Provost office for 2013-2014 academic year is the "Year of Sound." Beginning with the 2013 summer reading project, this year-long journey highlights the importance of sound in our daily lives and provides insight on sound's effects on our brain and subconscious.
