About Us

The Executive Doctorate in Higher Education Management was founded in 2001 by senior leaders of the education faculty to offer an innovative approach to training executive-level higher education leaders. It is a two-year, cohort-based program leading to the Doctor of Education Degree. The Executive Doctorate is one of four specializations of degrees offered by the Higher Education Division in the Graduate School of Education – a Master of Science in Education, a part-time Doctor of Education, and a Doctor of Philosophy. The Higher Education Faculty, led by the Division Chair, oversees the program. It is administered by a faculty director, two program coordinators, and a graduate assistant.
