The Executive Doctorate Initiates Online Journal
November 1st, 2006

Members of the Class of 2006 are in the process of developing an online, peer-reviewed journal sponsored by the Executive Doctorate program, tentatively to be called the Journal of Management in Higher Education. The purpose of the journal is to examine critical issues in higher education management in ways that cut across functional areas and institutional contexts. Once implemented, the journal will serve a national audience of leaders working in a broad range of administrative, academic, and policy arenas by providing a forum for scholarship that informs practice. Semi-annual issues will focus on a theme or problem of practice in higher education management. Issues may include feature articles (empirical research, literature reviews, and theoretical papers), media reviews, and guest commentaries.

Call for submissions: The first issue will be devoted to Managing Organizational Cultures and Change. Articles, reviews, and descriptions of programs that advance the innovative and strategic management of higher education environments are welcome. Proposed articles for this issue, planned for late Spring 2007, should be submitted by DECEMBER 1, 2006. Please see submission guidelines before submission. If you would like to discuss a proposed article or suggest themes for future issues, feel free to contact Tim Fournier.

Call for reviewers: If you are interested in being a peer reviewer for the journal, please e-mail Tim Fournier a letter of interest outlining your higher education management experiences and areas of expertise.
