Professional Experience
As Adjunct Assistant Professor, University of Pennsylvania, Graduate School of Education, Dr. Salter conducts courses in the Applied Psychology-Human Development Division that focus on the psychology of the African-American, and legal and ethical issues in Psychology. She also provides clinical supervision for doctoral students. Dr. Salter’s independent private practice as a Psychologist is concentrated on the areas of psychotherapy with children, adolescents, adults, families, groups, and couples. Her independent private practice as an Attorney focuses on areas of estate planning, family law, and civil litigation. As Director of Program Development for VisionQuest, Dr. Salter’s duties include the administration of a community-based prevention program; programmatic development of prevention programs for at-risk youth and their families; staff training; staff supervision; and consultation with administrative and management staff. As the Consultant Attorney and Psychologist for the Women's Law Project, Dr. Salter works with its staff on the Child Custody and Family Violence Project and Working Group on Delivery of Services to Women with Substance Abuse Problems. Her responsibilities include interviews with clients, court personnel and legal and mental health professionals; the research of legal and psychological issues; public speaking and drafting articles.
