The Graduate School of Education at the University of Pennsylvania invites applications for an Assistant Professor position in Teacher Education. Located in the Teaching, Learning, and Teacher Education (TLTE) specialization, this faculty member will play an key role in Penn's Teacher Education Programs and the master's and doctoral programs in the TLTE specialization, pursue a research agenda, and advise doctoral and master's students. The successful candidate will have a strong program of research in teacher education and/or development and can contribute substantively to our urban teacher education programs through leadership, research, program design, and teaching. Expertise in one or more K-12 school content area is preferred, although the specific content is open. Experience in developing or using technological applications in teacher education is also an asset. Additional opportunities include contributing to GSE's cross-school initiatives, including the Mid-Career doctoral program in Educational Leadership and the master's degree in urban education for Teach for America.
The successful candidate will have a doctorate in education or a related field, and an established program of research and publishing record in teacher education and related fields. Experience in elementary or secondary teaching and leadership is desired, as is experience and interest in preparing teachers for a wide-range of teaching opportunities.
