Educational Enrichment Programs

Penn GSE offers the following educational enrichment programs for student groups from other countries:

Penn - PCCW International Young Scholars' Program

Sponsored by GSE International and the Pacific Century Cyberworks Corporation of Hong Kong. The Penn-PCCW program is a seven-month language-intenstive, college-preparatory course. Students have five to six hours of class time each day, covering such subjects as essay writing, reading comprehension, SAT and TOEFL preparation, computer literacy, and American culture. The program's main goal is to prepare students for college life in the U.S. and to help them gain admission to U.S. colleges and universities. In addition to academics, the students also participate in local activities, tour college campuses, and travel to New York City and Washington, DC, to experience American culture, art and history.  Students arriving in Fall 2006 will be participating in the fifth cycle of the program.

Programs for Student Leaders

U.S. - China Future Leaders' Program: A new initiative in the planning stages. The Future Leaders' Program aims to establish an enduring relationship between the two nations' leaders of tomorrow. Participants will be selected from each nation's premier institutes of higher learning. The 50 students chosen will spend one month together in the U.S. and one month together in China. There will be four specific components to the curriculum: academic courses taught by guest lecturers (faculty, politicians, diplomats, etc.), a leadership conference held in both countries (hosted by today's current leaders), a summit for dialogue between the participants, and team collaborative projects.
