Teacher Application Form for Participating in
ITEST-Nano Project in Philadelphia Schools
Please read the following before continuing:
The National Science Foundation grant that funds this project requires us to collect large amounts of data, including that of our participants. This application has 63 items, and will need approximately twenty minutes to complete in its entirety. We apologize for the length of this application, and greatly appreciate your efforts in completing it in a timely fashion.
The ITEST-Nano Project welcomes applications from teachers in Philadelphia Public Schools. This project is funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF), and is projected to run for four years starting from January, 2008. Before proceeding further, please make sure that you are able to fulfill the following criteria for participation:
- You are a Grade 8 to 12 science teacher from a school in the School District of Philadelphia (this includes teachers from magnet, private, parochial, charter, and all other schools).
- You are available to attend all 5 paid summer professional development sessions on Aug 1 - 5, 2011 from 9 am to 2 pm at UPenn's campus.
- You are able to participate fully in the research and evaluation component of the project, (eg. surveys, interviews, classroom obervations, and other data collection).
- You have access to computers for students' use during school year.
- You are able to secure a letter of support from your principal supporting your participation in the ITEST: NANO Project.
