GSE's involvement in research in Australia and New Zealand continues to develop, in both the number of faculty working there and the variety of projects. As a Fulbright Senior Scholar in New Zealand, Dr. Nancy Hornberger has worked with the Ministry of Education there to improve the integration of the Maori language into children's schooling and daily lives. Several cohorts of GSE students have traveled to New Zealand to meet their counterparts and compare school leadership expectations, successes, and challenges.
