Jiangsu Executive Management Training Program
On November 14-16, 2007, GSE-International coordinated the second Jiangsu University Presidents Training Program for 25 presidents and senior-level administrators of universities in Jiangsu Province, China. Designed to introduce these university leaders to the wide range of issues involved in managing a university at the senior administrative level, the Jiangsu University Presidents Training program offers presentations from key sectors of the Penn community on a selected range of topics, including: research administration; faculty hiring, promotion and tenure; student affairs; finance and budgeting; human resources; intellectual property and technology transfer; community and government relations; and information technologies. In addition, the group heard complementary perspectives from Drexel University on the Drexel Co-Op Program; the "Learning by Doing" approach of the New York Film Academy's degree programs, and current thinking in higher education leadership by Warner Burke of Teachers College Columbia University.
The first Jiangsu Presidents Training Program took place on June 4-9, 2006, and involved 28 presidents and other senior-level university administrators.
