Penn-SASAC Sarbanes-Oxley Program
At the request of the State-Owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council (SASAC) of China, GSE International presented a one-week training program to 25 senior executives of state-owned Chinese enterprises on September 9-14, 2006. The focus of this program was the Sarbanes-Oxley Act, and particularly on case studies of its implementation and impact. The delegation was particularly interested in acquiring practical knowledge regarding the real-world effects of the Act, the mechanisms U.S. companies have chosen in order to comply with its requirements, and the lessons learned from the challenges of implementation.

In addition to receiving lectures by Wharton faculty and industry representatives on these topics, the delegation visited key regulatory institutions, including the New York Stock Exchange and the Securities and Exchange Commission, as well as consulting firms and law firms in New York, Philadelphia, and Washington D.C.
