Higher Education Management Training Program (NAEA)
National Academy of Education Administration of China (NAEA)
Training Program for Senior Executives in Higher Education Administration
In late November 2003, 24 Chinese University Presidents and Vice Presidents arrived on Penn's campus for a one-month program designed to promote the exchange of ideas between higher education administrators in China and at Penn. The program was jointly organized by the National Academy of Education Administration of China (NAEA) and the Graduate School of Education International Programs Office (GSE International).
The delegation participated in a one-month series of lectures given by senior faculty and administrators at Penn, and then visited Bryn Mawr College, and Villanova and Temple Universities.
The program's goals were to create a training framework for the executive program that will suit the conditions of China; to improve China's administrative training in the areas of instruction and curriculum development, especially for senior level administrators; to improve China's curriculum and pedagogy; and to enable senior/executive-level education administrators to apply theory into practice. All participants agreed that these goals were met and surpassed during their time here.
We look forward to welcoming another delegation from the NAEA again soon.
