GSE - Lucent Program
The Lucent/China M.I.I. Executive Management Training Program, February 2001
In February 2001, Lucent Technologies sponsored a program to bring 15 Chinese telecommunications managers to the University of Pennsylvania to receive management training and learn the U.S. style of successful business operations. The managers, identified as future leaders, came from a variety of provincial telecom companies.
Program Content
The program consisted of one week of training at Lucent's headquarters in New Jersey to bring the participants up to date with the latest developments in telecommunications.
The following three weeks consisted of daily morning lectures by Penn faculty members and members of the Philadelphia business community. Afternoons consisted of guest lectures and company site visits.

Extracurricular
In addition to all the time spent in class and visiting companies, the participants also had time to attend a performance of the Philadelphia Orchestra, travel to Washington D.C. to visit the White House, Capitol Building, and museums of the Smithsonian Institute; visit New York City; and visit with an American Family.
