What's your favorite thing to do on a Saturday?
Melissa
Melissa heads over Clark Park, the largest park in University City and home to a playground and basketball court, a life-size bronze statue of Charles Dickens, its own resident Shakespeare company, and one of the city's great farmers' markets. Before hitting the market for local goods, Melissa likes to stop by Café Clave on 43rd and Locust or the Greenline Café on 43rd and Baltimore for fresh coffee and bagels.
Alyssa
Alyssa starts her weekend by running the Kelly Drive loop, a flat 8.5-mile circuit along the Schuylkill River. On the Kelly Drive side, the path is wide and smooth and, on weekends from April to October, the drive on the west side of the river is closed to cars.
Charles
After a busy week, Charles likes to head to the Old City section of Philadelphia to take in a film at one of three Landmark Ritz Theaters, which offers a diverse selection of independent, foreign, and Hollywood titles. Located at 125 South 2nd Street, 214 Walnut Street, and 400 Ranstead Street.
LaToya
During the summer, you can find LaToya sitting out under the stars at Penn's Landing for the alfresco concerts of jazz, R&B, and gospel.
Ann
Ann goes to Reading Terminal Market, a rail-station-turned-public-market where you can browse the stands of Amish farmers, local growers, specialty cheese shops, butchers, bakers, and, yes, candle-makers. Be sure to bring your laptop — the Market has free wireless internet access.
