Doug settles in at one of the outdoor cafes that line Main Street in Manayunk.

Melissa

Melissa’s favorite place to read is Chapterhouse Café and Gallery, which offers a serene atmosphere and plenty of comfy seating. Located at 9th and Bainbridge in Bella Vista.

Alyssa

Rittenhouse Square readersRittenhouse Square is considered one of the country's great public parks where Philadelphians of every stripe congregate for people-watching, loafing, picnicking. For Alyssa — who's also enrolled in GSE's higher ed program — it's the perfect place to catch up with her reading assignments.

Charles

When Charles has some reading to do, he explores the vast collections belonging to the Central Library of Philadelphia. If he needs a break, he can take in one of the library's frequent visiting author events. Located near the Art Museum area at 1901 Vine Street.

You can find Ann with her nose in a book during her daily commute on the El (Elevated Subway).
