Annette Sample

PhilWP Scholar

Annette Sample is a retired English teacher from George Washington Carver High School for Engineering and Science in the School District of Philadelphia. She developed and implemented lessons using a student centered approach, enhanced by incorporating gender and multicultural literature. She is also the national president of the African American Lutheran Association. She is a member of Who's Who Among America's Teachers. She is the recipient of the Comcast Community Service Leader Award in June of 2000.
