Summer Institutes

PhilWP sponsors two Summer Institutes, a Summer Invitational Institute on Writing and Literacy for all School District educators and the Advanced Summer Institute II-Teacher Inquiry into Practice for TCs who have completed the Summer Invitational Institute. Both Institutes are offered as courses at the University of Pennsylvania. The Invitational Summer Institute renders 9 continuing education credits and the Advanced Summer Institute: Teacher Inquiry into Practice  renders 3 credits for those who complete all course requirements. These credits are applicable to Pennsylvania’s ACT 48 requirements. Participants who complete the requirements of the Summer Invitational Institute become teacher consultants and are welcome to participate in all local and national network programs.

2007 Summer Institute Dates and Times

Summer Invitational Institute on Writing and Literacy
Open to all School District educators
July 30, 2007 to August 17, 2007 plus 2 school year meetings

Summer Advanced Institute: Inquiry into Practice
Open to TCs who have completed the Summer Invitational Institute
August 6, 2007 to August 10, 2007 plus six school year meetings.
