Dissertation Topic:

Lisa Merrill is a fourth year doctoral student in Education Policy at the University of Pennsylvania’s Graduate School of Education (GSE).  Prior to her graduate work, Lisa taught 8th grade math in Brooklyn, New York where she served as her school’s union chapter leader and worked with local politicians and interest groups to improve the New York City schools.  She is interested in organizational theory, knowledge management, the politics of education policy, and mixed methods research.  In her spare time, Lisa loves to bike around the city, play ping pong, and eat spicy foods.
