Dissertation Topic:

Allison Nahmias is a second-year Ph.D. student in Clinical Psychology, working with the Center for Autism Research.  She is interested in the development, implementation, and evaluation of evidence-based interventions for young children with ASD that are effective and sustainable in community settings. Allison is currently working on a study that investigates the role of preschool early intervention setting in relation to cognitive outcomes for children with autism.

Prior to returning to graduate school, she obtained her bachelor’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania.  She then worked as teacher’s assistant and one-to-one at an elementary school for children with autism in Los Angeles.  She completed her master’s degree in Child Studies at Peabody College at Vanderbilt University, where she served as a research assistant on a study evaluating an early intervention training program for parents with young children with autism.
