Admissions and How to Apply

A Diverse Group of Applicants

The Executive Program in School and Mental Health Counseling seeks a diverse group of applicants interested in confronting the school and mental health counseling needs of children, youth, and adults across the U.S. and beyond. The program’s executive-education model is designed to attract full-time educators, non-credentialed counselors, or other professionals who want to make a career change into professional counseling, either in school or community settings.

Each year our student cohorts include early and mid-career teachers who want to become counselors, and combinations of lawyers, social workers, business people, and other professionals who are determined to apply their talents to the challenging demands of school and mental health counseling. Although ideal applicants are those with strong academic credentials and five or more years of experience in their field, the program also targets exceptional younger professionals who want or need to work full time as they pursue their counseling credentials.

Application Process

The program offers a rolling admissions process from September 5, 2017 – May 15, 2018, however, applicants are encouraged to apply early as slots for admission and scholarships are filled on a first-come, first-serve basis, or until the cohort is full.  In order to be considered for the 2018-2020 cohort, applications must be complete by May 15, 2018.
