student life

The Penn Graduate School of Education is privileged to have a student community of great occupational, geographic, and ethnic diversity. Our students bring with them a wealth of experiences that enrich both academic and extracurricular interactions. Students at Penn GSE have an allegiance to the cohort in their program, which creates a sense of community across the school. The hub of student life at Penn GSE is the Academic and Student Affairs Office, which strives to create a supportive, responsive environment for our students to pursue their academic goals.

We respond to students’ needs throughout their academic careers as well as bringing together students, faculty and staff. Students also serve in leadership positions on a number of school-wide committees such as orientation (including programs for international students and students of color), graduation, degrees, faculty search, and the Student Affairs Committee (SAC).

Our students are why we are here! You are welcome to drop by our office (Room 225) with your suggestions and concerns. Or email us at loism@gse.upenn.edu
