The University of Pennsylvania Library system consists of the Van Pelt Library, which houses materials in the humanities and social sciences including education, and fourteen departmental libraries. Access to many valuable on-line resources, including the library catalog Franklin, research databases such as ERIC and PsycInfo, and a large electronic journal collection are available via the Penn Library Web. Remote access is available for almost all of the on-line resources provided by the Library. In addition to building access, your PennCard is used to connect to these resources, as well as to charge, renew, and recall books. The PennCard is also used for printing and photocopying within the Library. Reserve materials may be located in hard copy in the Rosengarten Reserve Room in Van Pelt or electronically though Blackboard or the course reserve module of Franklin. Information about library services and hours is also provided on the Library Web.
The Library offers special introductory sessions for GSE students at the beginning of each semester. The Van Pelt reference staff is available by phone or in person.
