Funding to Chair Discussions and Present at Conferences
In order to encourage and assist GSE students in chairing discussions and presenting at professional conferences, GSE may reimburse:
- Up to $225 for chairing discussions per academic year
- Up to $300 for presenting at conferences per academic year
as long as the following conditions are met:
- You must be a matriculated degree candidate at GSE and enrolled in the semester in which you present, or the graduate of a one-year master's program presenting the semester following your degree completion;
- You cannot get reimbursed for more than 100% of conference costs.
- You can be reimbursed for conference registration fees, transportation, lodging, meals and copying but not for recreation or alcohol.
- You must submit the required forms: the C-1 form, and the Statement of Business Connection (SOBC) with original receipts, and a copy of the conference program showing the title of your presentation and your name to the GSE Student Affairs Office within 30 days of the date of the presentation.
- Requests received after June 1 will not be processed until after July 1.
- This policy is offered on a first-come, first-served basis until the allocated funds are depleted. If the allocated funds are not depleted at the end of the academic year, students who have been reimbursed once can submit for another reimbursement before the next fiscal year.
You need to submit both the C-1 form and the SOBC. You can obtain the C-1 form as an excel document or a pdf, but you have to download the SOBC and complete it manually because it is only available as a pdf.
You can also get the forms from the Business Office at GSE (2nd floor). Upon completion, give the forms to Lois MacNamara.
