Request Approval for Conference Reimbursement from the Penn GSE Student Government

The GSE Student Government and the Student Affairs Office have allocated limited funds to reimburse Graduate School of Education students up to $150 for attending a conference and up to $275 for presenting or facilitating a discussion (e.g., panel discussion) at a conference.

Students may receive conference funding ONCE per semester; second applications in a following semester are wait-listed until the second week of May after all first-time applications are evaluated.

  • You must be a matriculated degree candidate at GSE and enrolled in the semester in which you attend the conference.
  • You will be reimbursed for at most 75% of total costs.
  • You may be only reimbursed for registration fees, transportation, lodging, photocopying, and meals. For conferences based in Philadelphia, you may only be reimbursed for registration fees.
  • You must upload all related receipts with your request.
  • If approved, you MUST submit an Expense Report for reimbursement via Concur no later than the end of the Spring semester (during the Fiscal Year in which the expense was incurred). The Fiscal year runs from July 1st to June 30th each year. Late submissions WILL NOT BE REIMBURSED.

Students attending conferences after this deadline (during the spring or summer terms) may apply to be approved before conference attendance.
