Join us for a private, curator-led tour of Prospect.4: The Lotus in Spite of the Swamp at the Contemporary Arts Center New Orleans during the fourth iteration of the international triennial art exhibition Prospect New Orleans. History of Art Professor Gwendolyn DuBois Shaw will provide a lecture and tips on navigating international art exhibitions and the Modern and Contemporary art scene and a reception will follow. This event is co-sponsored by The Penn Fund and The Penn Club of Louisiana.

Enjoy a private tour of the special exhibition Bestowing Beauty: Masterpieces from Persian Lands at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston (MFAH) with Aimée Froom, Islamic Art Curator at the MFAH. The show features works of art from the 6th to the 19th century that highlight the rich artistic and cultural heritage of Iranian civilization. Many of these works are on view publicly for the first time. After a short tour, join Penn Professor Paul M. Cobb of the Department of Near Eastern Languages and Civilizations for a discussion about the exhibit and how it can be placed in a larger historical context. Food and drink will be served throughout.

Come out early to enjoy pregame warmups down by the court (5:30-6 pm) and then see the Sixers take on rival Kristaps Porzingis and the New York Knicks. The first 10 families that purchase tickets will be able to register their kids to high five the Sixers at halftime! All guests will be receive a Sixers group gift with their tickets at the game. Penn’s Mask and Wig is an all-male comedy troupe that has entertained Philadelphians and the Penn community since 1889 with its original revues.  This year’s production, I Am What I Amazon, has been adapted to appeal to children ages 12 and under.  Bring the kids for lunch (hot dogs, chips, beverage) and the show.

Tickets are $25 for adults and $10 for children 12 and under.

Join Penn Alumni Education and The Penn Fund for an afternoon of Macbeth! Penn’s Shakespeare scholar, Professor Zachary Lesser will offer a talk on the play and its author, after which we’ll enjoy a three-course lunch at Riva at Navy Pier. Together we’ll walk to the brand new, flexible performance space, The Yard, to enjoy a matinee performance of Macbeth. Created by Aaron Posner and Teller (of Penn & Teller), you’re sure to enjoy their enchanted take on “the Scottish play” even more after Dr. Lesser’s lecture!

Tickets are $75 (includes show, lecture, and lunch), and are limited and non-refundable.
