Join Dr. Jonathan Zimmerman and a panel of experienced educators as they address teaching controversial issues in American school classrooms. This event will be held in the Terrace Room, Claudia Cohen Hall, 249 S. 36th St. on Thursday, March 16, from 4:30-6:30 pm. Light refreshments will be served.

Make Something Happen: Overcoming Racial Stuttering & Paralysis in Conversations & Relationships
This workshop focuses on how to use racial literacy approaches during conversations & assertively navigate experiences of racial rejection or challenge from strangers, families, patrons, and friends.
On September 29, we will wish teachers “Happy New [School] Year” with a welcome from alumna Dr. Kira Baker-Doyle, author of “The Networked Teacher: How New Teachers Build Social Networks for Professional Support.” We will also host a teacher resource fair with representatives from organizations offering support for teachers in the Philadelphia area. Teachers and friends are invited!
This event will be held in the South America Room of International House, 3701 Chestnut St.
If you are interested in international education and global development, we would like to share with you information about the International Educational Development Program's Doctoral Concentration (IEDP-D). This is a unique cross-program, interdisciplinary concentration that is open to all PennGSE doctoral students (EdD and PhD) who have an interest in international education.
