Dr. Dennis Creedon, Retired Superintendent of Mahopac Schools, will present a colloquium titled: Trauma Informed Pedagogy: Seeing Homeostasis within Teaching and Learning. As the Superintendent of Mahopac Schools, Dr. Creedon wrote the District’s Smart School Bond application for the NY Dept. of Education that realized a $3.1 million dollar grant.  The funds were used to triple the bandwidth available within the schools. He instituted Google for Education as a core focus of the professional development programs and saw that every teacher and student in grades 4 - 12 received a chrome book.  In December 2017, District Administrator Magazine recognized Mahopac Schools for how the integration of technology helped build the teacher created and focused professional development program.  Dr. Creedon has experience as the CEO of a suburban school district and an Assistant Superintendent within the School District of Philadelphia. The greater part of his career has been as a creator of standards based curricula and reading materials that integrated hands-on creativity and cultural experiences within a literacy framework based on the work of Dr. Mort Botel and Dr. Susan Lytle.
