Dr. Mark Holodick, Superintendent of Brandywine School District, will present the colloquium titled: Preparing Leaders for the Future of Education. Dr. Holodick was appointed the superintendent of Brandywine School District in October 2009. Prior to being named superintendent, he was principal at Concord High School and at a blended middle and high school in the Delmar School District. Over the past nine years, as the superintendent of a large and incredibly diverse public school district, Dr. Holodick has led many initiatives, launched programs, and developed strategies to improve student and school achievement across elementary, middle, and high schools. In 2017 he was named Delaware’s Superintendent of the Year for these accomplishments. As a member of the Delaware Valley Consortium for Excellence and Equity in Penn’s Graduate School of Education, Delaware Chief School Officers Association, and other state-wide and community organizations, he has focused on leadership development, social justice, and equity initiatives that have increased opportunities and improved outcomes for all students, especially underserved youth and their families.
