This is a flyer for the event titled “Evidence-based Education Reforms – Innovation, Practice & Leadership in Post-Pandemic Era” being held on 3rd December, at 11 am – 12:30 pm

Over a year has passed since the pandemic sent shock waves globally and added new layers of challenges in the pursuit of ensuring quality education for all children. While international organizations, research bodies and governments were already working to improve equity, learning and governance in the education sector, this new era demands a more inclusive and targeted approach to education reforms - driven by evidence and centered around innovation.

Penn GSE presents a panel of high-level experts including international development leaders, researchers, and policy makers, who will come together to shed light on the pressing issues facing education. Key topics of discussion will include:

  • lessons learnt over the last year and where we stand today,
  • importance of innovation/technology in education practices,
  • evidence-based interventions and ensuring impact,
  • research to inform policy and practice,
  • need for better education financing
  • the kind of leadership required during these times, and
  • efforts of international organizations such as the World Bank, UNICEF, GPE and IDRC.

Panelists:

  • Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum - Minister of Education, Ghana
  • Tricia Wind – Program Leader, Knowledge Innovation Exchange, GPE / IDRC
  • Jaime Saavedra - Global Director for Education, The World Bank
  • Matt Brossard - Chief of Education, UNICEF Office of Research
  • Robert Jenkins - Director Education, UNICEF
