HEARD has launched a new lecture series, “Get HEARD”. The series will provide an opportunity for members of our community, who are interested in having deeper conversations on the topics of equity and inclusion to engage, get/give feedback on early research, learn about research projects on various topics, and about community initiatives. The series will host various types of discussions including lectures given by Penn faculty/students and other community members, panel discussions, and presentations by doctoral students and mentors.

Dr. Doug Frye and doctoral advisee, Laronnda Thompson, will be our inaugural speakers for the new series. Their presentation is scheduled for April 20th, 12 to 1pm. It is entitled, “Toward understanding versatile-thinking and meaning-making”. This study seeks to understand the role of the development of interpretive theory of mind in literacy and school achievement. Please RSVP here: https://forms.gle/ntL6GKvC21yzV9Cm6
