Higher Education Colloquium Presented by Dr. Julie Wollman: "Leadership to Advance Three Critical Principles of American Higher Education"

Dr. Julie Wollman will present the Higher Education Colloquium titled, "Leadership to Advance Three Critical Principles of American Higher Education." Dr. Wollman is the tenth president of Widener University. She is nationally recognized for her commitment to building community and bringing people from varying perspectives together. In 2017, Dr. Wollman launched Common Ground, an initiative designed to encourage reasoned, respectful discourse on challenging topics. In 2019 Dr. Wollman designed an innovative approach to strategy development that improves upon traditional strategic planning by using scenarios to envision various futures and focusing on strategic direction rather than elaborate plans that may quickly become outdated in times of accelerated change. The process has been recognized nationally as an emerging best practice. As chair of the President’s Alliance she has led a project to unite the many member institutions, in partnership with local business and industry leaders, to advocate for the value of higher education as a public good and an economic imperative to ensure a thriving region and strong, healthy communities.
