Students, alumni, faculty, and staff of Penn GSE are cordially invited to the launch of a new partnership between the McGraw Prize in Education and Penn GSE.
 
For more than three decades, The McGraw Prize in Education has recognized outstanding individuals deeply committed to harnessing innovation in education to improve the lives of learners worldwide. On February 13th, Penn GSE will host a launch event to formally announce a new partnership between the School and this important and prestigious prize. 
 

The event will feature a panel discussion with four McGraw Prize Winners speaking on "Sustaining Innovation in Education." The panel includes:

Sarita E. Brown (2009 Prize Winner)

President, Excelencia in Education, a national not-for-profit organization dedicated to accelerating Latino success in higher education, and former Executive Director of the White House Initiative for Educational Excellence for Hispanic Americans.

Alberto Carvalho (2016 Prize Winner)

Superintendent of Miami-Dade Public Schools, the fourth largest school system in the U.S., and Founder and Principal of the iPreparatory Academy, a nationally certified magnet school that has become a model of 21st Century learning in the age of innovation and technology.

Christine Cunningham (2017 Prize Winner)

Professor of Practice in Education and Engineering at Penn State University, and author of Engineering in Elementary STEM Education, which describes her groundbreaking work in making engineering and science more relevant, accessible, and inclusive.

Chris Lehmann (2014 Prize Winner)

Founder and CEO of the Science Leadership Academy Schools network, a network of three progressive science and technology public schools in Philadelphia, and one of the pioneers of the School 2.0 movement nationally and internationally.
