Join us for a community conversation focusing on how we navigate identity and belonging. How do we identify? Where do we feel known and understood? Answers to these questions are not always simple. In this Live Event, conversationalists will start the discussion by reflecting on the complexity of their religious/spiritual identity, and explore the religious/spiritual spaces where they've developed a sense of belonging or struggled to find acceptance. Throughout the evening, attendees will engage in facilitated small group discussions on the same questions. The evening's conversation will be moderated by WHYY’s Jennifer Lynn. Food will be offered at this event. Conversationalists: Kameelah Rashad - Fellow for Spirituality, Wellness and Social Justice at UPenn; Rabbi Micah Shapiro - Rabbinic Fellow for Innovation at Penn Hillel; Max Rothschild Student Leader; and Emily Zislis Student Leader “Navigating Identity and Belonging” is sponsored by Catalyst @ Penn GSE and the University of Pennsylvania's Spiritual & Religious Life Center in partnership with Interfaith Philadelphia.

Join us for an opening reception in the 3700 Walnut Building Lobby to celebrate our new look and the exhibition of art by students at the Chester A. Arthur School, the Juvenile Justice Center School, and Strawberry Mansion High School. In our design sprint last year, we challenged GSE faculty, students, and staff to create ways the lobby at 3700 could better serve and reflect the people, work, and values that make up Penn GSE. As envisioned in the sprint, we have brought a new look to the lobby and added vibrant colors to our walls with the display of artwork that embodies GSE values of community, leadership, and innovation. Come see the art and learn more about the projects: Education not Incarceration, Ode to Mandela, and Mandalas. Light refreshments will be served.
