Laura Desimone examines how education policy influences teachers’ instruction and student learning. She is co-director of the Center on Standards, Alignment, Instruction, and Learning (C-SAIL), which examines how various college- and career-ready standards are implemented, if they improve student learning, and what instructional tools measure and support their implementation. An expert in teacher professional development, Desimone co-leads Shared Solutions, a research partnership with the School District of Philadelphia.
