Marybeth Gasman is a leading scholar of Minority Serving Institutions in the United States and around the world. A historian of higher education, Gasman works with MSIs — Historically Black Colleges and Universities, Hispanic Serving Institutions, Tribal Colleges, and Asian-American and Pacific Islander Serving Institutions — on educational leadership, philanthropy, and recruitment. She is the founder and Director of the Center for Minority Serving Institutions.
Peter Eckel, writing with Cathy Trower, cautions that the traditional committee structures and operating procedures of university, college, and state system boards have not kept up with the times and can benefit from focused institutional review.
