Perna Honored for Financial Aid Research

August 10, 2011 - The National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (NAFSAA) has honored Penn GSE Professor Laura W. Perna for her research and publications on pre-college and college education, college finance and affordability, and equity in higher education.

Perna received the Robert P. Huff Golden Quill Award, made annually for outstanding contributions to the literature on student financial aid.

In presenting the award, NASFAA’s former national chair Laurie Wolf said, “[Dr. Perna’s] extensive research has drawn several prestigious research grants from the U.S. Department of Education, the Lumina Foundation, and American Educational Research Association. Her expertise is highly regarded in the higher education community such that she advises and serves on numerous educational review panels and boards … [and her] deep commitment to expanding college access is made clear by her prolific scholarly publications through several highly-respected educational journals.”
