Biography
Janine Extavour is the director of teaching & learning at Sonoma Academy in Santa Rosa, California, where she oversees the academic program, faculty professional learning growth, and support for students. She has over 20 years of experience teaching chemistry, biology, and integrated science in both public and private schools. Janine received her Chemistry Teaching Specialization from the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education at the University of Toronto, as well as her teaching degree. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in biochemistry from the University of Guelph in Ontario, Canada. Janine deeply values connection and community and is passionate about building meaningful relationships in schools.
