At Penn GSE, we believe in supporting not just your academic success but your whole self. We provide dedicated resources to help you grow, thrive, and find community during your graduate school journey.
Academic Support
The Writing Commons at Penn GSE supports the culture, practice, and skill of academic writing. It enhances academic writing by meeting students where they are, creating supportive hybrid writing spaces, cultivating writing skills, and recognizing the integral role of people’s identities, cultures, and knowledge-building practices in the writing process. The Writing Commons collaborates with the Weingarten Center and the Penn Libraries to provide support and programming.
The CETLI Teaching Certificate provides Penn doctoral students and terminal master's degree students with support for improving their teaching as well as recognition for their commitment to developing as teachers. The program encourages students to become self-reflective teachers and to enhance their awareness of additional teaching practices by engaging in discussions about teaching.
The Weingarten Center, Penn's home for Academic Support and Disability Services, offers learning consultations, tutoring, and interactive programs that provide support as you develop learning strategies and content knowledge to further your academic and professional goals.
Professional Support
Students can gain hands-on experience with faculty-led centers, projects, and initiatives that produce cutting-edge education research worldwide. Many programs offer limited graduate assistantships to full-time students as a way to enrich their academic experiences with applied research and employment opportunities within the School and/or at partnership locations.
