Biography
Yang Jiang is a learning scientist and interdisciplinary researcher whose work lies at the intersection of artificial intelligence (AI), data science, education, psychology, and technology. Her research focuses on advancing the responsible use of data science and AI methods to improve learning, teaching, and assessment. She develops and applies educational data mining, learning analytics, and AI methods to large-scale educational data to explore how learners interact with technology-based learning and assessment systems, and how these interactions relate to cognition and learning. She also leads research on the fairness and ethical use of AI in education, developing equitable, valid, and innovative approaches to measure and foster complex 21st-century skills such as collaboration, self-regulated learning, and critical thinking.
