Professional Biography
Michael Baime, M.D. is the Director of both the Penn Program for Mindfulness and the Mind-Body Programs for the Abramson Cancer Center at Penn Medicine. He has been the recipient of the Provost’s Award for Distinguished Teaching at the University of Pennsylvania and the 2016 Award for Distinguished Contributions in Behavioral Medicine from the American College of Physicians. Dr. Baime’s research interests include the impact of mindfulness-based training at the worksite; the behavioral and neural changes associated with meditation practice; the use of mindfulness in a medical setting; and the impact of mindfulness practices on empathy, burnout, and patient safety for health care professionals.
